Garmin today announced the new Sub Saharan Africa Streetmaps 2013.1
Along with the announcement came some significant changes to the product range
- the Topo version will not be updated further :'( (so hold onto your 2012.3 version - luckily the topo features don't change.)
- SA Waterways will not be further updated.
- Streetmaps 2012.3 was the last version available for the Non-NT devices, so older units like the Quest will not be able to be updated any further with Garmap maps.

This mapset includes the routable tar and gravel road network detail for 29 African countries.
Product Features: Product includes comprehensive coverage of street level detail for selected cities and towns throughout the African region.
Release Highlights:
South Africa region feature 677000 kms of routable roads and 266 666 POIs
Routable coverage increased by 87% in DRC and 21% in Botswana
POI coverage increased by 33% in Ghana 10% in Uganda
