The annual Off Road Toy Run in De Wildt is here again!

What is the Off Road Toy Run? Every weekend dirt bike riders descend on the de Wildt area to ride the numerous paths and trails there. You can give something back and help fight the Aids scourge by supporting this event.

Who can participate? Anyone who has an off road or dual sport bike - just arrive with your gifts, bike, a full tank of petrol and liquid refreshment for the ride. Kids on bikes or quads welcome.

Where will the Off Road Toy run start? The start and finish will be at the Morula Sun hotel near Mabopane. Secure vehicle parking is available.

Time? The first groups will depart at 9h00 on December 3. The return ride should take 2 to 3 hours.

Is there an entrance fee? Any vehicle carrying or towing bikes will be admitted free of charge. Other vehicles pay the R20 entrance fee charged by the hotel.

What gifts must you bring? The event will focus on assisting aids orphans and foster families by giving them what they really need - food and clothing. Toys will be supplied by the On Road Toy run, so please donate non perishable food, clothing, stationary for school etc. Our target age is junior and primary schools, so clothing should be for up to 14 years of age.

How will the gifts be distributed? Where possible, we give the toys and food parcels directly to the children and parents at the end venues.

The route? This year we will have one route which everyone will follow to the two venues and it will be 50/50 tar and dirt. We will carry flags etc and marshals will wear t shirts to educate the locals about the event and the aids projects we assist. Not as exciting as before, but the kids count more than the ride!

Sponsors? The motorcycle trade have been generous contributors to this event every year. The Off road Toy Run is part off the national toy run group and they will provide toys again this year.

So are we going to do a forum thing, the next weekend, to the Groot Klip area, or will we be joining this one?? :?
