Hi All,
I'm looking at a weekend ride for next weekend, 5,6,7 Dec.
I want to ride around Lesotho from DBN/Hillcrest area.
Thinking of:
Running for Kokstad via Ixopo on Friday afternoon. Staying over in Kokstad, any recommendations in the area?
Sat - Kokstad, Matatiele, Mount Fletcher, Rhodes, Wartrail, Lundeans Nek, Upper Telle, Lower Telle, Sterkspruit, Zastron, Vanstadensrus. Sleep over somewhere here, any recommendations in the area?
Sun - Wepener, Hobhouse, Ladybrand, Clocolan, Ficksburg, Fouriesburg, Clarens, Past Sterkfontein dam to Bergville, Winterton, Mooi river, Notties, PMB, home.
Any suggestions on places to visit and see welcome.
Please advise on sleepover recommendations. As I have not doen this type thing on a bike I don't know what is doable in a day esspecially on dirt. I am not very comfortable on dirt so might take a while!
Anyone keen to join?
Ok an update:
The total distance looks like around 1400km. Maybe a tad too much for a weekend?
Would mean 300km on Friday (afterwork) 500km Saturday which includes almost 150km dirt and then 510km on sunday, mostly tar.
Perhaps rethink this.........
Maybe just visit the Rhodes, Barkley East, Maclear, Elliot area and back.
