Opinions wanted for GPS purchase

This subject seems to have been covered a few times previously, but not for a few years, and I'm sure technology/prices have changed dramatically in the meantime. Wife and I are looking to buy our first GPS unit to use on the bike and since we've really got no idea what's out there am asking for advice. Suppose we're looking at the budget end of things so don't need all the highest tech stuff, bluetooth etc. Just a good basic device. Thanks in advance.
