Petrol Brands

After recent problems with my bike not running lekker I started to wonder what relation this has to the brand of petrol used.

I usually fill up at the closest service station to my home (will not mention the brand) and have had intermittent issues with my bike.

When I had the most recent issues I changed my brand to service station which is a bit out of my way, but I have always been happy with the performance that I got.  The same goes for another one. (Trying to keep the brands out in keeping with the rules)

I am just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?
