Took a chance and bought a 90-95 XT 600e.
No papers, but i thought that over time i can sort that out. Turns out the bike was never registered on eNatis which pretty much condemns it to farm / offroad use or as a spares bike.
Whilst waiting for confirmation of its status Sidetrack and I decided to see what is what.
We already determined the motor turns over easily by selecting 5th gear and pushing it. Next i took a spare battery and hooked it up. To our surprise everything worked - lights, indicators, breaklights, instrument cluster - the works. Even the starter motor turned over easily.
Next we took out the spark plug and after scratching around found another newer plug of the same type, grounded it against the engine and was rewarded with a nice big spark.
Hooking up a fresh supply of fuel from a seperate cannister, we opened the float bowl drain screw. No fuel came out.
The carb was a bit yucky :biggrin:
