Its just about winter and this gives us a chance to test if the thermal liners in the kit will indeed keep the rider warm :imaposer:. Who would like to join on a weekend ride to Lesotho with Clarence as base camp ?
Here is the idea , You can join from anywhere , The Guys from Johannesburg can meet up and ride together to Clarence on Friday afternoon ,Book into booked accommodation and then go to dinner , On Sat morning we meet up early and ride to Caledonspoort , cross the Border ( passports required) and head up the mountain to AFRISKI for brunch or depending on time frame stop for a hot chocolate and head to Sanitop for lunch . After lunche we make our way back to the border and then Clarence for Dinner , After breakfast on Sunday morning we head home .
If keen to join add your name to the list ,make your accommodation booking and say if you want to meat up to join the ride down or make your own way to Clarence and meet up there . OPEN INVITATION .
Just one thing to take into consideration , it is winter and can get very cold in Lesotho, chance of snow a possibility and can derail plans . forcing a about turn . Petrol is available , but not a guarantee, We have the option to stop in BUTHA -BUTHA and fill up , and then head to Afriski About 80km from CALEDONSPOORT , awesome tar road , lots of photo oppertunety
