She was coming down the outbound section of the N7 at the river bridge just after the Vissershoek turnoff.
I had just been testing out my gearing at high speed and was at about 150 when I saw her. I couldnt fathom at first what was going on. I crossed the bridge as far to the right as I could be off the tar and on the concrete. In my mirrors there was a a big truck in the fast lane, I fully expected to see carnage.
Somehow she turned into Vissershoek unscathed.
With a bit of adrenaline I chased her. I got alonside her and she was on the phone with an A4 sized map on the steering. I got her to stop at the first stop street a few k's up the road.
She wound her window down stopped on the stop line, I was still on the bike.
"Are you lost?"
"yes I'm looking for Meerendahl"
"Do you know you were driving down a freeway on the wrong side and could have killed me?"
"No I didn't!"
Me, "!, are you drunk?"
She starts to wind her electric window up, I held it down.
"Just give me 2 minutes" still on her phone.
"Are you mad?"
She's not well, clearly highly stressed and not coping. There are cars behind us now. I pull over to the side and indicate to the other cars behind her with the universal circular motion to the head.
She needs help. I left to go have my fun.
It's a fucking zoo out there!
