I am tentatively thinking of doing a long run down to the Cape and back with the wife.
I have a 800GS and she is going to get a 650/700 soon. Depends on what we can find for her and she needs to sell her Ducati.
The route will be mostly tar but I would like to add a few hundred km of gravel if I can.
Planned time would be Late January early February 2014.
Route would be Pretoria, Upington, Loeriesfontein, Lambertsbaai and along coast to Cape.
Return would be Cape Town, Worcester, Montagu onto Route 62, Calitzdorp and over Swartbergpas to Die Hel, Prins Albert and then some route back to Pretoria.
We will have about 2 weeks to do it in and plan on camping.
Any ideas or advice?
About 3500km distance planned. This is a thought that needs alot of work to come to life but we would really like to do it!
