A Queensland couple has been killed in a motorcycle accident in the central African nation of Uganda.
Dean and Tanya Griffioen had been travelling by motorbike across southern and eastern Africa since August.
Ugandan media has reported that a 33-year-old man and 34-year-old woman died when their motorcycle collided with a four-wheel drive about three kilometres from the town of Mubende in central Uganda on Tuesday.
The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed it had contacted the couple's families in Australia.
The couple had posted an extensive online photo diary of their trip online.
Before arriving in Uganda, the photo diary revealed they had travelled through Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Zambia.
