So I wanted a 16 tooth front sprocket for my 990 adv and while a bit sceptical at first after searching the net a bit got a few good tips and thought I'd share them.
There is an order of parts that need to be removed where applicable ill put tips between parts.
1. Remove clutch slave cylinder
2. Remove front sprocket cover
3. Flatten safety washer
4. Loosen sprocket nut
This is where I struggled at first, but the trick is: with bike in neutral put the 32 "spanner" supplied with bikes tool kit over nut, spin rear wheel until spanner hits swing arm, repeat until nut is loose. I could not get this nut loose with pressing the brake and my home toolbox ratchet no matter how hard I tried(almost damaged the nut) but with the supplied mini spanner I had the nut loose in seconds!
5. Loosen rear wheel axle
6. Move rear wheel forward to give chain slack
7. Replace front sprocket
Re assemble in reverse order
Remember to re bend safety washer
Remember to tighten rear axle! I was so exited to go wheelie that I almost forgot!!!
Much happier with 16t front, next to go to 45 back!
Hope this helps someone!
