A friend of mine knows someone who needs his 45 ft yacht sailed from Cape Town to Pemba.
Our original plan was to load our bikes on the yacht & sail to Pemba! FAT CHANCE! On further investigation, we found out that in a perfect world it would take at LEAST 6 weeks for this trip. The bikes, unless properly treated would be seriously rusted.
The latest plan is to have someone else skipper the boat from CTown to Maputo. We rail our bikes to Pemba, sail the boat from Maputo to Pemba & then ride our bikes back home. :biggrin:
Are we living in a fools paradise, or can it be done?.
Are there there any complications with regards the railing the bikes to Mocambique? Will they be safe?
I have heard about carnet papers? Does this apply to Pemba? What documentation is required?
Has anyone any experience of the route back? Possible pitfalls & avoidances?
Any input would be appreciated. :thumleft:
