Sani Pass Dangers?

I am leaving Sunday from Jeffreybay to Swaziland through Lesotho. The guy at Cape Union Mart says that he read somewhere that they hijack bikers and bicyclists on the Sani pass towards Lesotho.
Does anyone have more onfo on this or is it just a rumor?

I will be travelling alone and just wanted to be cautious.
