I read on that the tarring of Sani pass has been approved by the roads dept yesterday.

Now I know the rumours have been going for quite some time now, also on the 4x4community forum. It seems, however, that there is now a process in place and things are moving forward, if the article is to be believed.
They don't say when it will be tarred, so how about some of us dogs that still have Sani on the bucket list, and those who've done it before make a trip there and experience the road more gravelled before this all happens?
Anyone keen, maybe a one night stay-over somewhere close?
Edit: Even though I searched first and didn't find anything, I see a thread about the tarring has already been started here: wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=151512.0
