A persistent, though small, sump bolt leak has been hassling me for a while on one of my bikes. Not a lot, maybe a drop a week - but it's there - and shouldn't be.

So, eventually, having a proper look I see the bolt-hole has been stripped in it's past life, must have been re-tapped? maybe. Dunno. But there's a helicoil in there now and it's been put in skew ............. fook!

Now the bolt goes in skew, hence the leak. I've tried alu washers, copper washers and a dowty washer - all don't quite stop the drip.

My next trick is gonna be a rubber washer sandwiched between 2 dowtys - UNLESS one of you lot has a better idea. To remove the helicoil, drill and tap again is a helluva job, especially getting it perfectly straight, so I'm not going there. The small leak is not worth the effort.
