Should I let my kids ride scooters or bikes? Poll Added

My hubby and I both ride bikes.
I started riding after almost 2 decades of driving cars.
The traffic scares me when it comes to letting my daughter out there.
Yet I know given half a chance she'd be on a scooter.
It would help us a lot and give her some freedom.
Am I too protective?????  :-\
