excuse me for i am electrically (amongst other things) challenged.
if i press my starter button (with ignition on :lol: ) a solenoid kicks in which allows power to go to the starter motor.
why is there a solenoid? why isnt it just a simple switch letting the juice go to the starter motor direct?
can someone explain to me in simple english what is the function of a solenoid?
