I just came from my Namibie trip without any big hassles. The only problem I had was the spark plugs!! The 1100 use Bosch Super FR6DDC plugs. I took 1 spare with me which I used between Maltahoe and Mariental. The "middle tip" of the plug was gone and the 'porselain' were loose from the metal part!!!
Replaced it and the motor sounds good.
Sunday just outside Calvinia the same happened, one plug was shot and the other on it's way out! Couldn't get Bosch plugs but NGK BKR6EY had the same length and thread, so I put it in and the bike made it back to Cape Town! Will this plug damage the engine/pistons. I don't know what the heat ratings is between the Bosch and the NGK plug.
I think the bike is running to lean which caused the problem??? It has an aftermarket pipe fitted awhile ago........
