On my 1290 (and 1190 before that) I put on a 16T front sprocket at the first 1000km service. This replaced the 17T stock front and shortened the gearing nicely.
It's getting time for a new chain, and I want to put a bigger rear sprocket on instead of the smaller front.
I know you're supposed to put new sprockets with a new chain, but I have the old, barely used 17T front with only about 1000kms on it (of run in riding as hell, so not getting hammered). Surely that should be fine?
