Ok so when I hit about 7000 - 8000 rpm on the DRZ (redline 10 000 rpm) I get a stutter and the bike will backfire and cut in and out. According to the experts it's either the source or pickup coil which are part of the stator / generator that is starting to fail. A new stator from Suzuki is around $250 which equals about R2000 ouch ! Apparently the coils can be rewound even diy but that would be my last resort. Do you guys know of a good place to take my stator to ? Can any electric motor workshop do it ? I'm not to clued up on electrical parts. I went through every connection and cleaned and took the whole carb apart so that is not causing the problem. I can ride around the problem but apparently it will only get worse. Here is a diagram of the parts. Would apreciate any info !
