sticker induced helmet disintegration, fact or fiction?

I bought my self a sweet looking matt black Airoh S4, this past weekend.
I also bought myself a sweet looking glow in the dark wild dog paw print sticker (thanks adventurer)

I would like to combine these two items.

However my manual for the helmet says one should not place stickers on it.

So whats the deal, will they dissolve shell and actually weaken the helmet? Or is this just disclaimer to cover them from americans doing something dumb? Or are wilddog stickers specially designed to be helmet friendly?
