Strange?? Electrical issue. 2008 Gen 2 KLR - Sorted, was a sulphated battery!

Bike would not start yesterday after I had stopped to take a pic.
Solenoid just buzzed, got it jump started and got home.

Voltmeter on the way home showed between 6 and 7 volt!
Rev counter needle and temp gauge did not register.

Charging battery at present.

Any ideas on what it could be?
Never had this before on a dead battery scenario, almost looks like some kind of short?
No fuses blown either.
