Superbike to dual sport bike

Superbike to dual sports bike!  Hi all, im a 41 year old youngster from Cape Town. And I have had super bikes for the past 22 years. Have just made the change and 2 weeks ago I bought myself the BMW 1200gs with the intentions of doing mostly off road, with some tarmac.  I would say 60/40 split. I hope I have made the right choice here. Have read some conflicting opinions in the forums. Your thoughs? I am doing an off road level 1 course this weekend with country Trax. Also, I have absolutely 0% mechanical knowledge. Anyone know perhaps if there is a course or something close by where one can get a tutorial of some sort. I plan to do some longer tours, but cannot if I am stranded with bike on side of Road. I don't even know how to change a tyre. [emoji30].  Any help here appreciated.  Brian
