Hi everyone

My name is Rentius and I'm new to the forum.
I've been riding my F800GS for more than a year now and loving it!  :laughing4:

I'm planning on riding the R355 from Ceres to Calvinia in March 2018 and then from Calvinia to Upington.

I did a ride on the R355 from De Bos to Tankwa padstal (102km at 80-100 km/h) in October 2017 and the road wasn't that bad.
My tyre pressure was 2.8 at the back and 2.3 at the front.
Back tyre Mitas E07 and front Pirelli Scorpion, had no problems even though the tyres where worn.
Going to replace the tyres before the trip.

This time it is going to be a bit different, 2 up on the bike and soft-luggage ( 78kg + 68kg + luggage ).
All the research I've done so far points to the road being renowned to puncture tyres, but not sure on which side Ceres or Calvinia.
There is also a lot of conflicting info about tyre pressure..

Would be nice to have some comments about the road (R355) and/or tips when riding it and tyre pressure.

Regards
Rentius
