Buying an Adventure bike calls for that first real adventure, and here it is!

The basic outline is driving from way up North from Piet Retief, coast long through Richards Bay down the east coast past Durban and further to Port St Johns.
From here I am taking a route inspired by a 4x4 route planner book:
Tombo
Sharks Point
Presly Bay
Coffee Bay
Whole in the Wall
Dwesa
Willowvale
Mazeppa Bay
Cebe
Jacaranda Shipwreck
Kei Mouth

The trip is spread out over 6-days continuing further down to PE for the festive season with family.
Return will be the fastest route with a bit of Lesotho past Clarens home.

Any riders that have recently done this trip, I would be very interested to know how you experienced it and any note worthy points to keep in mind.

My gear is a BMW F800GS, good rider pants, jacket, gloves and boots. No panniers, just the vario top box for onderbroeks and shaving bag.
Tires are Anakee III's, and there is one of my concerns... to fit more off road orientated tires or work a bit harder on the trails and keep them on?

Cheers,
Johan
