Two Finger levers burns clutches????? WTF????

A mate of mine bought himself a F800GS second hand, it was kitted with 2 finger levers.
His brother did the BMW K53 training on the bike last week and the instructor tunes him that the 2 finger levers don't disengage the clutch properly and it ends up burning the clutch.

This makes no sense to me and I rode that bike and would noticed sticky changes etc. right?

Anyone heard of this before?
