Urgent help needed with Garmin 276 battery connection

I need help urgently with my 276:

I'm electronically retarded so tried to bend open the connecting 'thingies' that connect to the battery poles (x3) and I managed to break off one of them.  How does one fix it or have I just committed the ultimate 276 crime??  Does it form part of the main GPS body or is it a replaceable component?

Any help will be greatly appreciated as this GPS has been my partner for ages.

Please please please...
