Varadero or DL 1000

I'm currently considering a big two up mile muncher that can tackle the odd dirt road and needs comparative info on the Varadero and the DL 1000 V-Strom. I expect to put lots of kilos on it  :ricky: :ricky:

Has anyone ridden or even better owned both and can give me some pro's and con's of each?

I would be specifically grateful for info on:

• servicing costs
• resale value
• insurance
• comfort
• essential improvements
• longevity and off course reliability

Please no "Get a whatever " replies I have specific requirements and limitations ($$$$ max R60 000) so can't look at the BM's and KTM's of the world.
