So, after several weekends occupied with all sorts of "non-fun" stuff, I planned to ride that XT yesterday, even if it snowed.
Sent out some sms's to the Dirt Road Riders in the area and the good old faithful replied immediately.
Strange thing is always that nobody ever asks where we're going, just "MOET EK VLIES BRING?"
I called a good mate who is a fanatic XT lover (and previous owner who due to some "economic pressure" as a result of farming in the Free State no longer has one) and offered that he come with and ride my other Tenere, as it was dying to taste some gravel. Without hesitation it was a "Yes, dit klink moerse, moet ek vleis bring?"
Nou ja, 7am on Saturday morning we met at the usual place only to discover that Anton and Henko had enjoyed themselves too much on Friday evening and were still sleeping it off.
Still nobody asked where we were going???
Headed out towards Steynsrus on a twee spoor road that can truly claim to be the least travelled in the Free State.
Only had to do about 3kms on tar from Kroonstad to Steynsrus.
So lyk dit..........
