Hi guys,
I am looking for a scooter/small bike/fuel sipping transport device.
It is not for me but for one of my drivers. He is currently struggling with transport while he pays off a little Opel he has bought. Opel in hands of owner till payed off. He seems to buy rides from various guys who travel through to work at the same time in the morning. Rate for that is R1/km. I pointed out that he should get his learners licence and buy a scooter or small bike since his car will only be in his hands next year June! By then the scoot will have payed for itself.
R4000 is what he has to spend, 3k is his and like a sucker I am putting 1k in to push him out of the sat bike zone. I want to try to find him the lowest mileage, best value in terms of engine size that I can. I have been aiming at 150cc scooters or one of these 200cc Chinese jobs.
What have you PE chaps got gathering dust in the garage?
I would also appreciate any advice as far as these little machines go.
What is a high mileage? Are belt drives better than chain? What makes to avoid?
