The HA30 by Niteye® is not a diving headlamp, but one of very few with an IPX8 waterproof rating, tested at 2m for more than 4 hours. It uses conventional and easy-to-find-anywhere AAA batteries. This headlamp is very compact, weighing only 134g (with batteries). The light unit is made from aircraft grade aluminium and is anodized for hardness. The mount connecting the light to the three band strap is made of rubber. It is comfortable to wear even for long periods at a time. The light unit can be adjusted up and down by rotating the light in the rubber mount, but this is quite hard to do. Fortunately the beam pattern is very floody and smooth and therefor does not have to be adjusted to often. The runtime is not as good as some popular brands out there due to its constant current regulation. It means that the LED will not dim gradually as the batteries deplete, but rather step down to a lower setting. Non regulated headlamps will gradually shine dimmer until it hardly emits any light, therefor the ridiculous runtimes of 50+ hours.
