Summery:
A easy and scenic ride this coming Sunday.
The itenery:
07:30 Depart Winelands Engen 1 Stop on the N1, passing over Beinskloof to Ceres. (130km) A quick 30 minute coffee break at Ceres, a refuel in Prins Alfred Hamlet, then up Gydo pass towards the Ceres- Cederberg gravel road (40km) and through the mountains to Cederberg Oasis for lunch (100km). After lunch we'll continue our mission to Citrusdal (120km), then back home on the N7, with the ETA for Cape Town around 17:00.
There will be some rain in the area this week, and its going to be cold. But the road is fine (I did it last Sunday). I will have a Sat phone on me so we have comms in the mountain.
You need to bring:
-> Spares and equipment you may feel you need. (You should not have a flat unless you are very unlucky or your tyre's are pretty useless.)
-> Medical-aid card or number. (Not required)
-> 1liter water
-> A couple of energy bars
-> A small medikit with a space-blanket.
This is one of the most scenic rides in the WC, so if you feel like stretching your bike's legs, then sign-up! :mwink:
