MOTORRAD ADVENTURES PRESENTS
West Coast/Namibia/Cederberg Tour 2009 17-25th August
Day 1
Leave Cape Town on our epic journey through the West Coast, Fish River Canyon, Orange River, Cederberg and back to Cape Town. The first day will take us on the coast through Melkbosstrand, Vredendal and on to Strandfontein where will camp at the beach.
Day 2
From Strandfontein we will make our way north through Lutzville,Garies and on to Hondeklipbaai where we will stay for the night. Hondeklipbaai is a very small mission town in the heart of the diamond producing area of South Africa. Here we will stay in the hondeklip house.
Day 3
From Hondeklipbaai we will go into the diamond area up towards Alexander Bay at on to Sendelingsdrift on the Namibian border. Sendelingsdrift is in the heart of the Richtersveld. Here we will camp
Day 4
We will cross the border into Namibia and ride trough Rosspinna on to luderitz where we will camp at the shark island, we will explore the wonders of the coast and all the ruins
Day 5
After breakfast we will ride towards Fish River Canyon where we will camp for the night. The Fish River Canyon is a breathtaking experience.
Day 6/7
We will make an early start to experience the crisp desert air riding towards Vioolsdrif border and onto Aquacade camp on the banks of the Orange River. We arrive before lunch to row on the Orange River for the rest of the day. A very good friend of mine owns aquacade and this makes for a very pleasant stay. Those that feel up to it will row for the afternoon to a good fishing spot for some yellow fish on the fly and stay over for the night on the river.
Day 8
Driving back towards Springbok on the tar is very nice and we will have breakfast at the Wimpy. From Springbok we do some off road towards Kamieskroon, Bitterfontein and arrived in Van Rhynsdorp where will stay over at Nieuwoudtville camping for the night.
Day 9
The Cederberg awaits us. From Van Rhynsdorp we will leave for the beautiful Cederberg area to experience nature at it’s best. We will stay at the majestic Biedouw camp, the home of the www.cabc.co.za. Here we will stay for the night in one of the bungalows.
Day 10
After breakfast we will make our way towards Wupperthal a small mission town in the heart of the Cederberg. Then it is the Pakhuis pass (the hardest part of the journey) towards Cederberg Lodge for lunch and on through the Koue Bokkeveld towards Ceres and then we will greet the CT Guys and then the rest off the party will sleep over in Robertson before going home.
COSTS
R 2800, 00 per rider
R 1800, 00 for pillion
This price includes: accommodation (camping and under roof), support vehicle and trailer with fridge for drinks as well as braaipacks for evenings braai, breakfast cereal and yoghurt, milk and coffee.
Excludes: lunch and border crossings, own petrol and all excursions for own account. This is a camping event, own tent and sleeping bag (can go in support vehicle).
Motorrad adventures will make all the booking arrangements at campsites and provide back up to the riders.
There is also 2 spots in the support vehicle for non riders to tag along with the group at pillion rate (R1880)
