What 650+ to get

I am planning to sell my GS. I used the bike mainly for daily cummuting between Strand and Cape Town. I would like to get a smaller bike for weekend dirtrides. The GS is a bit heavy for the rides I want to do. But, I also want to use the bike for the occasional commute to work a 110km round trip.
I am considering the Yamaha 660 Tenere. Are there any other bike you dogs would recommend.
I want a large tank for range, enough power to carry a pillion for the occasional breakfast run, and the bike must be low on maintenance.
