I am busy looking (still a long way from buying) a GPS to use on the bike, car and hiking. At the moment I am down to the following 2. Zumo 220 or Nuvi 500.

Speaking to Kevin at Boltons about the 2. With the Nuvi you need to add a few things to get it to use on the bike (mount, charger etc). The Zumo already has everything. The price difference is then about R1000 where the Nuvi is cheaper.

What I don't want/need:
Bluetooth/phone/headset connection
Don't need to listen to music/mp3's
Don't need to take photo's
I don't want to recieve and read emails
Basically nothing multimedia or communication wise

What I do want
To be able to plot a route on the PC and upload it. This is the most important feature that it MUST have
Waterproof
Autorouting
I know the last to is on all new automotive GPSe but that is what I want.

Both of these units can load T4A (not that I  know how to use it yet).

To me a 1000 bucks is a 1000 bucks. And the difference is even more it is a "toy".

I have search the forum for opinions and with everything else here the differences are various. However I could not get a clear cut idea of which is the better one of the two for me.
