Our last ride of 2016 was going back to our routes and a celebration of good hard dual sport fun.
We put together a tough route that consisted of some of our favorite tracks, a few new ones and some I believe have never been ridden before.
9 riders were warned this might involve a couple of tough days and recommended for single cylinders only.
4x KTM690's, 2x Husky 701's, 2x Husky 501's and the big 950SE met in Montagu on Thursday evening for an early Friday start.
Day 1 went according to plan but huge fires in the Swartberg meant a detour and missing out on the new secret route that inspired this trip in the first place put a damper on day 2.
We shuffled day three to try attempt it again, this time managing to get through the raging infernos on the mountain., although we ran out of daylight and spent an extra night in Calitzdorp. Not all bad as it meant we could squeeze in Gysmanshoek on the way back to our cars at Montagu on Monday morning.
What an awesome ride with this group of old and also now new friends on some of the best adventure riding tracks I've ever ridden. Not even the high 30 degree weather could get this lot down.
Without doubt this ride will become a WildWood staple and feature at least once in 2017. Until then enjoy the pics and hopefully a video shortly.
