So a while ago I did some tarmac surfing with my helmet. I fell off my bike on the highway, because my front tire was flat. I was used to riding with a wobbly front end. I assumed this was because I run knobblies at 1.2 bar, and that day the tire was at 0.1 bar - so I fell. Very stupid to not have checked, but I was in a hurry and hadn't been on the bike in a few weeks.

part of it was the spokes. They were loose. I didn't know this. I recently sent my bike to superfoxi.
He said my spokes on the rear tire were so loose that it was unsafe to ride, the back wheel hub was moving around.
Since he's fixed it the bike is MUCH more stable on the tar.

So please check your spokes if you have headshake on your bike.

Spokes must be tight.
Tire pressure must be right.
Then look at suspension settings.
Finally worry about the kind of tire you're using.
