My XR400 makes this tapping/knocking from around the top end.
I do not think it has always done it but can't remember when it started, and sure its getting louder.
Once the bike is completely warmed up it goes away and some days the noise is louder than others.
Took it past bike shop and they say its the tappets and cam, ~R6k to fix.
Does this sound right? I would like to know what other's experiences have been.
