I was not exactly impressed by the stock units and decided to baboon-tune a set of CRF pegs into place (the stock peg spring wont fit. You can use BMW foot peg springs :thumleft

They are a remarkably close fit and you simply have to remove the little end-piece:
..and remove 3-5mm off the sides:
I made sure that I retained the same angle as the stock pegs by removing most of the material off the upper side of the pegs (if that makes sense)
Measuring the stock peg's angle:

And there you have it, now I can meerkat like a boss:
