The TTR got very little use the past couple of months.
I originally bought it in 2007 to commute with and keep kilos off the 1100.
5 months later I moved to a new job that is closer to home, so I didn't need to save that much k's anymore ;D ;D ;D
I used it for the occasional play around and my wife learned to ride on it.
For the past year it basically taught two people how to ride and didn't do much of anything else
So the time has come to let it go as it is gathering dust.
I just got it back from Julian at Superbike Solutions where he gave it a thorough check up and service.
He did/checked:
[*]Standard service items: Oil, spark plug, filters cleaned, valve clearance adjusted.
[*]Cleaned + re greased levers and perches
[*]All round lubed and tightened/checked
[*]Checked/tightened spokes
[*]Chain cleaned, waxed and adjusted
In addition I asked him to give it a good checkout with the intention of identifying anything that might need to be fixed or that a prospective buyer must know of - he gave it the all-clear.
I bought the TTR in 2007.
I put about 5000km on it and gave it a service at 30000km (plugs, oil, oil filter and air filter cleaned)
The bike has now got 31600k's on it.
Mechanically it is in an excellent condition.
Cosmetically it's got some surface rust on both sides on the swing arm in front of the rear axel (pics included)
The bike is licensed untill en of February 2011
Price: R17000 and yes - I am negotiable.
I will do the roadworthy if the negotiations doesn't go too far down
I also have the matching Sirac (that's on the front) rear tyre in good condition to throw in.
It has served me well and it is surprisingly punchy for a 250.
