Some of you may know that my 2009 yellow F800GS motor hand-grenade itself last week. It's official - my bike is dead - died of a broken heart! So I'm in the market for a new baby and Maya (as she has always been affectionately referred to by my daughter) will be stripped and sold for parts. Sad day, but new beginnings for 2015!
Looks like a piece broke off the plastic cam chain tensioner, got grinded up and seized the oil pump - so the engine is making very non engine like clattering sounds and the oil is heavy with iron filings.
With 95 000kms on the bike, it's not worth fixing and selling (which was what I was planning to do very soon) as I definitely won't get the cost of the repair back.
Mayhem had a similar thread started in April last year which I used as a guideline for some pricing. Thanks Mayhem for a lot of the research that you did!
There are more parts available and I will be updating this thread as I start stripping.

Engine Components - As I don't have a 100% view of the condition of the bottom end of the engine (I am however very confident that bearings are shot and there was more internal damage), I wont be advertising the complete engine or parts yet - If you need anything, let me know and I will fast-track that stripping process and work on pricing or consider offers. Peripheral parts like covers, etc will be easier but for now the engine and most components are still in the frame - I will strip as need be.
Please PM me if you want something then I can keep track of the items. As far as possible, I will use PostNet at your cost and larger items you must arrange courier or collect. I will send pic's if you need but all parts are in reasonably good condition I will elaborate when you message me with requests. Prices are negotiable (so make an offer) - especially if not sold early on, but only within reason. Higher price offers will however get preference regardless of order of receipt of offer, however once I agree to a sale, a higher priced offer wont help - my word is my bond.
