I'm planning a solo ride from Centurion to Cape Town on a 2007 BMW R1200GS - taking in Golden Gate and Die Hel along the way.
Please could you eyeball my route and give me any pointers you think I may have missed, or where I am being just plumb crazy (or if I missed a decent dirt road along the way)?
I'm a 'little' pressed for time so can't go wandering off all over the place, but also don't want to get bored on a highway.
Day 1 - Centurion to Fouriesburg (via Golden Gate)
435km
Day 2 - Across to Gariep (or further)
425km
Day 3 - Push through to George, via Uniondale & R339 into Knysna
620km
Day 4 - Die Hel, then on to R62
460km
Day 5 - Home (Melkbos)
240km
2180km - 32hrs riding not taking stops into consideration
