I bought a new ZUMO 660 and find it to be a great toy on the bike and in the Disco.

On a few trips we have seen that the routing is at best a bit “strange”. I have noticed that it loves U-turns and roads less travelled or still being planned.

On a recent trip to the Dundee area the “strange” routing became very evident. When changing between the shortest and fastest route the ZUMO looses all its marbles.

Route was loaded using MapSource. Latest and Greatest update.

Shortest route : 378 km Correct accoring to MapSource

Fastest route: 830 km all tar from the farm! (The farmer was very upset that he did not know about this new tar road to his farm.)

It tells me to drive 110km in a direction then make a U-turn and come back 120km.

Has anyone come across this idiosyncrasies in their ZUMOs?

I have also found that it tends to get “Lost” in places like Heidelberg. It would route you round the same block twice and on the third lap want you to make a U-turn.

U-turns have been set as an Avoidance.
