Now with the Credit act and tighter disposable income because of the higher interest rates, how many bike dealers or accessory shops in your region have closed down by now?
A few car dealerships in Gauteng have closed doors, some merged but it's not all roses anymore.

We only have around 6 bike shops in EL of which 4 were here before WW1 through the Black plaque survived WALL street crash and most probably will be here after the Holocaust when only Cher and cockroaches would survived.

The BMW dealer in EL is brand spanking new, still stink of that new car smell, and their sales have drop drastically the last few months. They are also the shop with the biggest disadvantage, only selling expensive bikes and BMW branded stuff, and are not allowed to sell any other aftermarket goodies.

In the mean time KTM, Suzuki and Yamaha are creaming it with the BMW clients with other aftermarket stuff. Buffalo Kawasaki have the most comprehensive range of bikes and move new and secondhand bikes in droves.

Honda wanted a new dealer in EL to spend R1.5milj on bikes on the showroom floor, guess what? Still no Honda dealer in EL, 2 years going now, Suzuki service Honda's in EL.

KTM sells off-road bikes in this region like Mobil-one-stop sells Cornish pies and milk, there's just no stop, and at average R73000 a bike, not too bad.

Still very little commuting bikes on the road, so in the end will this bike craze keep going and grow in the future or just go cold and the bikes get sold or spend more time gathering dust?
