registering new bike -- Help???
« on: March 25, 2014, 01:41:52 pm »
Hi, I just bought a GS fro a private seller and got financing from the bank. The last step in this process (that felt like months) is to get the original NATIS document from him and to register the vehicle in my name.  After this the deal will be settled and I can eventually get the bike..

I would have to go to the licensing department and stand in queus right? What advice does anyone have on this? Easier way? What can I do to assure this goes as fast as possible?

Appreciate any advice!

Thanks

Has he got the papers or did he also finance the bike?

He also has finance.. just got confirmation that my bank paid his.. so now I wait and wait again till they release them right?

Then I fill it in and go to licence department?

if he has been paid, like you said, you can go and collect the bike.
You will just need proof of payment.
I bought mine via private finance, so it works the same way

You need the registration to certificate to ahve his name on it and not the bank. You also will have to have the bike roadworthy'd before you can get a licence and regsitration. I just bought my son a "new" second hand bike and we had to get the bike roadworthy before we could register and licence, which lasts for 60 days.
