Thursday 29 May 2014 – Lesotho Public Holiday
Most of the adventure bikers that live in Ladybrand work in Lesotho so we decided to do a one day raid up into our beautiful back yard to appreciate again what is arguably some of the best adventure riding terrain around. For this ride we were in total 8 bikes and the route planned was about 450km’s. There is no profound reason for the ride or big challenge like ongeluks or Jockstrap, just to go have a good time on the bikes on what would otherwise have been another day in the office
Thought I share this fun ride;
The Route – with rough km’s
Ladybrand to Ficksburg (Enter at Maputsoe Gate) - 72Km
Maputsoe to Leribe (fuel stop) - 20km
Leribe to Lejone over Mafika - 90 km
Lejone to Liqhobong Mine, Past Kao Mine to Klaing - 80km
Klaing to afriski (food stop) - 20km
Afriski, oxbow to Butha-Buthe over Moteng (fuel Stop) - 70km
Butha-Buthe out at Caledons poort and back to Ladybrand for Beer and Pizza at Spizzy - 130km
No real incidents to report other than the occasional customary rocks being flung at us by kids, in all a leisurely day starting at 7am with a Wimpy breakfast and we were back at 5.30 - Much enjoyed by all :thumleft:
