CRF230, What to look for when buying 2nd hand.

Hi there Wild Dogs, I am nearly ready to start looking for a crf230 to get around the farm and also for a bit of fun. I currently use a xr125l so I'm not familiar with the crf. Please could those Dogs with experience tell me what to look out for or check when looking at a used crf230. Also what other bikes in that class could I consider? I'm about 1.6m and 63kg.

If you enjoyed the XR125 you will love the XR150. My 2c but those extra 25cc really make a differance. CRF230 is lekker but i dont think you can get them licenced for the road anymore

Ok thanks,  I'm not worried about licensing the bike as it will most likely never see a tar road. Looking for a bit more power than 150cc,  say 200-250cc,  but I'm pretty sure the 230 will be perfect. I find the xr125l too pap for my liking and it's gear ratio isn't right for our type of terrain.

The bikes are great and I have had one for  5 years and raced and rode it every weekend any have not had any trouble with it I bought it second hand. I have upgraded to crf 250 but my son now rides it. It is difficult to say what to look for but check the shocks for leaking. The bash plate on them are not the best so look for oil leaks under neath.
