Navigator not responding
« on: January 16, 2017, 10:52:32 am »
Need advice please, since yesterday my Navigator V do not respond/ come on when connect to the bike cradle, have tested it on another bike and it was fine. The cable from the cradle split in to two, three wires go to a connector (assume power and bike integration) and other two wires to open connector.

Im not sure on the BMW harnass, but any other 660 or Garmin Zumo will have a inline fuse that is part of the Garmin wiring.

Like I say, not sure on the BMW  :'(

Maybe there aint one, canbus controlled? but I think there must be one.

Spray a little contact cleaner on the pins (you can buy that at an electronics store). I've found that on my bike I occasionally have to clean the contacts, despite the rubber gasket.

Ah, you did not mention that in your original post.

That is why my wife is a better electrician than I am: she will ask me where I worked last, and when I tell her, she will instruct me to open that lightswitch / plug / whatever and look for the fault right there. She is usually right. ;)
