Ok so with the plate on my bike it sounds like a rumbling noise almost like a bearing is toast. Removed my bash plate and the noise is gone. Not much of an issue when riding but sounds terrible at the traffice lights or slow going. I have searched on the net and guys have had varying degrees of success to add stuff to the inside of the bash plate. Have you tried something and did it work ?
