Info wanted - Trip

We are planning a Northern Namibia trip in August, leaving Gauteng through Botswana sleeping in Maun. From there to Divundu and then east doing the Linyanti loop onto Katima. From Katima into Zambia for some Tiger Fishing up north. On our way back we want to visit Vic Falls -

Question  -  Is it better to travel to Livingstone or back through Katima, Kasane (through Chobe) and Kazungula to Vic Falls?
                  What is the Zim border issue like?
